The generous NJ TREC Rebate program is an often overlooked benefit for going solar.

In short, NJ will rebate money to your account based on the usage of your solar system and our Average homeowner receives  NJ TREC Rebates of over $9,000 deposited to their bank over 15 years

The amount they rebate over time is substantial and should not be overlooked when deciding to install solar.

Transition Renewable Energy Certificates (TRECs) are now created in New Jersey to provide incentives for all solar systems certified under the current Transition Incentive (TI) Program. This platform allows homeowners and aggregators to obtain payments from the electric utilities in NJ for generation reported to GATS.

The best way to describe the TREC is that it is $91 fixed for 15 years for every 1000kwh the system produces. When the system produces 1000kwh the homeowner will receive a deposit for $91. This won’t be necessarily a monthly deposit, it could be 7 deposits over the course of the year depending on how many kwh the system is projected to produce.
